Brice est un rider passionné de Moutain Bike, qu'il pratique depuis des années. Et il apprécie les oldschool en connaisseur de beaux cadres atypiques ou tout simplement très efficace sur le terrain de jeu.

Il a choisi un magnifique Trek Y 22 série de 1996, en parfait état, qu'il a monté avec soin, et avec lequel il ride dans les bois et singles rocailleux  de l'Ardèche. En cela il participe nous tous passionnés par les Y au "renouveau" de ces bikes aux lignes futuristes, cet aspect particulier en font des vélos intemporels qui ne seront jamais démodés. 

Voici les premières impressions de Brice lors de son premier ride avec son Trek Y 22 le 24 mai 2019.

Question : Comment trouves-tu ce cadre sur le terrain?

Réponse Brice : Ce cadre est Très rigide, il ne faut  avoir un amortisseur bien réglé sinon les sensations sont floues. 

Question : As-tu remarqué d'autres particularités?

Réponse : C'est un cadre qui chante aussi, il faut caisse de résonance en fonction de la qualité du sol et de la vitesse.

Question : Pour toi quel est le point fort de ce cadre ?

Réponse : En avance technologique sur son temps. Un bon cadre reste bon très longtemps.

Question : Et quel serait pour toi son point négatif?

Réponse : Le cadre est un peu long, mais c'était la tendance à l'époque.

Question : Tu l'as passé en XT ?

Réponse : Le LX  était d'origine, j'ai monté full XT en harmonie avec le dérailleur original + Vbrake. En Ardèche les terrains peuvent être très accidentés, donc j'ai besoin de freins plus agressifs que les  cantilevers LX. Le montage d'origine en cantilever LX sur un tel cadre est un autre point négatif. 

Nul doute que Brice va se régaler avec son Y 22 sur le terrain de jeu de l'Ardèche qui offre toutes sortes de possibilités et pas des plus faciles pour un VTT et son pilote. De plus il l'a doté de magnifiques roues SPINERGY qui offre à son Spad une gain de légèreté, d'agressivité et renforce encore plus son côté aéro. Comme il l'a dit lui même il va devenir avec le "Ragnar des bois", il rencontre sur ses rides de nombreux animaux, et quoi de plus beau que ce contact avec les forces de la nature et l'homme avec son Bike !

Here are the first impressions of Brice during his first ride with his Trek Y 22 on May 24, 2019.

Question: How do you find this setting on the ground?

Reply Brice: This frame is very rigid, do not have a damper well adjusted if the sensations are blurred.

Question: Have you noticed any other peculiarities?

Answer: It is a frame that also sings, it needs sound box according to the quality of the ground and the speed.

Question: What is the strong point of this frame for you?

Answer: In technological advance on his time. A good frame stays good a very long time.

Question: And what would be your negative point for you?

Answer: The frame is a bit long, but it was the trend at the time.

Question: Did you spend it in XT?

Answer: The LX was original, I mounted full XT in harmony with the original derailleur + Vbrake. In Ardèche the terrain can be very rough, so I need more aggressive brakes than LX cantilevers. The original LX cantilever mount on such a frame is another negative point.

No doubt that Brice will feast with his Y 22 on the playground of the Ardèche which offers all kinds of possibilities and not easy for a mountain bike and its driver. In addition he has endowed with beautiful SPINERGY wheels that gives his Spad a gain of lightness, aggressiveness and further strengthens its aero side. As he himself said he will become with the "Ragnar des bois", he meets on his wrinkles many animals, and what's more beautiful than this contact with the forces of nature and the man with his Bike!
